Does Apple Cider Vinegar Burn Fat?

If you are one of the many people who have been using Dr Lee's Acvacea program, you may be asking yourself "Does apple cider vinegar burn fat?" You see, Dr. Lee routinely promotes the use of acetic acid to help your body eliminate toxins and increase your metabolism. He also promotes a healthy diet and exercise program for his patients. But does acv play any role in weight loss?

One of the tests that he has used to determine whether or not adding acv to your diet aids in weight loss is to test blood glucose levels at various times during the day. He has found that when the subjects drank either apple cider vinegar or water, their blood glucose levels did not vary. However, when they were given a bar of acv on separate day and then an identical test the subjects who had ingested the acv showed a significantly lower blood glucose level than those who took the water.

So, does apple cider vinegar aid in weight loss? It is well known that excess glucose is stored as fat by your muscle cells. This is why you frequently see overweight people with cellulite. Excess glucose that is not burned can turn into fat if it is not quickly removed from the body. In addition, excess glucose tends to damage your brain, causing short term memory loss and other brain functions to deteriorate.

The science behind whether or not it does apple cider vinegar for weight loss is not completely understood. However, some researchers have suggested that it may help to increase the burning of fat. Others have suggested that acv may help to regulate blood sugar levels, preventing insulin resistance, which can result in excess glucose being stored as fat. But Dr. Lee believes that the act contains vitamins that help to break down and eliminate stored fat.

To conduct a clinical trial to determine does apple cider vinegar for weight loss work, a small group of test subjects were invited to participate in a four week program using either a supplement formula or a ready to use drink mix. The study lasted for eighteen weeks, and the participants had a choice to continue or stop the program after the fourth week. At the end of the study, the results showed a significant improvement in both body weight loss and reduction of body fat. Patients who continued with the study lost an additional fourteen pounds compared to those who discontinued at the end of the study.

The main ingredient used in the formula was acv along with a special blend of enzymes and prebiotics. Although Dr. Lee does not recommend this exact combination in his books or on his website, he has been quoted as saying that it is effective for helping to control cholesterol levels and breaking down of fat cells in the intestines. In addition, he has been quoted as saying that the acidity of acv gives off heat, which stimulates the thermogenic effect, or fat burning, of the body. This is the reason why Dr. Lee recommends drinking two to three bottles of acv every day.

In another study, test subjects who drank only a beverage with acv instead of a pill every day lost more weight than those who took a pill with a placebo and also had a lower blood glucose level than those who took a tablet but no acv. Dr. Lee also recommended that dieters take acv before meals and as snacks between meals. He did not suggest that the drink is taken at a particular time of day, just before breakfast on an empty stomach or at dinner. He also recommended that dieters not take any other sweetened beverages before meals.

A related study involving mice and monkeys found that acv slowed the growth of fat in the abdominal area, but did not affect the growth of muscle cells. The researchers concluded that the glucose inhibitory effects of acv were more important than its ability to burn calories. It appears that Dr. Lee is right about the benefits of and for weight loss. However, he is probably right about the need to exercise and feed the metabolism so that excess glucose does not accumulate in the body.
